Gerber pre-folds question?
We’ve used pocket diapers since Elyse was about 4-5 months old and would like to cloth diaper the new baby from birth. I already have plenty of pre-folds but not sure they would be appropriate for actual cloth diapering. They were bought at babies r us as burp cloths, Gerber brand. They are not the thin woven kind but do have a extra soaker layer in the middle and seem pretty thick. Would these work for a newborn? Are they too large? We’re good from about 10+ lbs so I’m looking for a reasonable way to cloth diaper until that point and am limited on funds.

No way they would work until he can fit into our one-sized pockets? BG claims they fit 8 lbs and up but I’ve heard 10 lbs is more realistic. My daughter was born small and I’m assuming this one will be too so the baby will use the prefolds for at least a few months. Think we can ‘get by’ with these?
I’ll bet you can get by with them. For the first few weeks, their output isn’t that much, and I don’t think I would buy a bunch of high-quality durable prefolds just to get through that initial period. Two or three newborn covers, and you’re set!
